About Elisabeth Kley

Elisabeth Kley (b. 1956) is an American artist who lives and works in New York. Kley draws from a range of influences—from the decorative traditions of Islamic, Byzantine, and Asian historical ornaments to patterns of the Wiener Werkst├Ątte—to create paintings and distinctive clay vessels featuring sgraffito botanical and calligraphic motifs.
