Installation artist Phoebe Washburn (b. 1973, United States) reuses discarded industrial materials to create large-scale architectural environments. Her work is concerned with both material and process; the artist states, "The shapes are less about form than they are about the activity involved in amassing and assembling the forms." She received her BFA from Tulane University (Louisiana) and her MFA from the School of Visual Arts (New York) and lives and works in New York.
