Region
James Welling (b. 1951, United States) is a photographer based in Los Angeles. He studied at Carnegie Mellon University (Pennsylvania) and received his BFA and MFA at California Institute of the Arts (Valencia). He is most known for his photographic experiments with color, transparency, and reflectivity that abstract everyday subjects. In 1995, he was appointed head of the photography department at University of California, Los Angeles.
