An artist collective, assume vivid astro focus is S o Paulo- and New York-based Eli Sudbrack and Paris-based Christophe Hamaide-Pierson; the duo often morphs into a larger group, depending on the project at hand. Their maximalist aesthetic is often mischaracterized as being "carnavelesque." Cheekily playing up this label, the artists used carnival themes as the source material for sapuca (carnaval). The wide range of textures in this geometric abstraction is achieved by contrasting flat digital elements with organic elements like glitter, brush strokes, and paint blotches.
Installation is sized, priced and produced on a project-specific basis.
