Pierced Banner
399989–001

Installation is sized, priced and produced on a project-specific basis.

Pierced Banner by Caitlin Keogh is based on the William Morris tapestry Wey, an iconic decorative work designed in 1883 that might ordinarily be viewed in a flat, canonical setting but is here presented interspersed with graphic swords, trompe-l'oeil perforations, and flowering vines. Through a surreal application of color, Keogh implies the coexistence of multiple layers of time and meaning.
